Following the launch of the Aquila 50 Sail earlier this year, Aquila Catamarans is set to unveil its second sailing model: the all-new Aquila 45 Sail, making its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2026 (8–13 September).
The introduction of the 45 Sail marks another important step in Aquila’s expansion into the sailing catamaran market. Rather than adapting an existing power catamaran platform, Aquila developed its sailing range from the ground up, establishing it as a genuinely independent line within the brand.

A New Cruising Catamaran Designed Around Life On Board
At the heart of the Aquila 45 Sail is a design focused on the realities of long-term cruising and comfortable living aboard. One of its most distinctive features is the innovative fixed bow cockpit, replacing the traditional trampoline with a true social space for relaxing, entertaining, and enjoying time underway. Combined with direct bridge-to-bow access from the flybridge, the layout improves circulation throughout the yacht while maximising usable deck space.
Measuring 14.38 metres overall with a 7.77-metre beam, the 45 Sail offers interior volume that competes well beyond its size class. Large panoramic windows flood the saloon with natural light, while owners can choose between three or four-cabin layouts, each featuring private access and ensuite bathrooms designed with genuine liveaboard comfort in mind. Accommodation for up to 12 guests further reinforces the yacht’s cruising credentials.

Twin Volvo Penta 50 HP saildrive engines provide reliable auxiliary propulsion, with an optional 60 HP upgrade available. A total upwind sail area of 125.6 m² — comprising a full-batten square-top mainsail and furling genoa — delivers confident performance across a wide range of conditions, while the optional 111.4 m² gennaker enhances downwind capability. CE Category A certification confirms the yacht’s offshore capability.
A spacious flybridge, full galley with household-sized refrigeration, abundant storage, and carefully considered social spaces reinforce Aquila’s approach to cruising: creating yachts that are as comfortable at anchor as they are at sea.

Building on the Success of the Aquila 50 Sail
The Aquila 45 Sail follows the award-nominated Aquila 50 Sail, which debuted earlier this year at the Miami International Boat Show. Together, the two models mark the beginning of a dedicated sailing lineup built on the same principles that established Aquila as one of the leading names in power catamarans.
See the Aquila Sailing Range at Cannes
For the first time, Aquila will showcase a dedicated sailing catamaran display at the Cannes Yachting Festival, featuring both the Aquila 45 Sail and the Aquila 50 Sail.
As the exclusive dealer for Aquila Catamarans in Portugal, Ricardo Martins from Alura Yachting will be attending the show and available to arrange private viewings and discuss the Aquila Sail range with prospective owners.
