2013 RM 1260 “Blue Octopus” — a rare Marc Lombard performance cruiser combining true offshore capability with the speed and enjoyment of a modern racer-cruiser. Built by RM / Fora Marine (France) in marine plywood/epoxy, she is light, stiff and exceptionally quick. Although built in 2013, she was only launched and commissioned in 2014. Twin keels and a single rudder deliver confident handling plus the practical ability to dry out.
Set up to sail fast and sail far, she comes with an outstanding Ullman Kevlar sail wardrobe: square-top mainsail (48 m²) and genoa (45 m²), both 2014, plus a storm jib (25 m²), furling gennaker (80 m²) and an impressive Parasailor (140 m²) for effortless downwind miles.
Electronics and control are equally strong: Raymarine EV400 Sail autopilot, Raymarine Axiom 9 plotter (2019), AIS Class B transceiver, radar, Navtex and EPIRB.
Comfort and autonomy are covered with Webasto heating, Watt & Sea 600 hydrogenerator, solar on the arch, and an EFOY fuel-cell generator. Powered by a Volvo Penta D2-40 (40 hp and 1,420 h) with folding prop, she cruises efficiently at around 5.5 kn.
